Keeping your kids safe in Bounce Houses
From castles to slides, bounce houses and other inflatable
items are staples at birthday parties and local carnivals or festivals because
they provide a place for children to play where their parents can watch them.
Although bounce houses are meant to bring joy and excitement to children and
other patrons, they can be incredibly dangerous if they are improperly set up
or poorly maintained.
You should always supervise your child while he or she is in
a bounce house, and you should make sure to follow these guidelines:
•Do not mix age groups and keep similar-sized children
playing together
•Adults should not play in bounce houses, especially with
kids
•Remove shoes, glasses, jewelry, and anything else that may
cause harm to others
•Discourage overly rambunctious behavior, like doing flips
or running in circles
•Do not let kids play on a bounce house in the rain, as the
surface may become slippery
Unfortunately, even if you take every precaution to keep
your child safe in a bounce house, he or she may still be injured if the
equipment is set up improperly or is not well-maintained.
